We did the Palm Sunday lesson I posted a few weeks ago, and it went very well. Unfortunately, my camera batteries died halfway through, but I managed to get a few good photos before it went! You can click on each picture to enlarge it.
Here we are, ready for our Palm Sunday procession - ready to proclaim "Hosanna" and then cry "Crucify him" only 20 minutes later.
And here's Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane. The girl in the striped vest is Judas, who has just kissed Jesus. The two younger children are soldiers. One boy held his palm cross by its short top part, and used it as a sword.
Behind Jesus is the tree that identifies Gethsemane as a garden. This tree has been in our classroom all year - first it was decorated with apple Christmas tree ornaments and a snake, as the Tree of Knowledge. Then we made felt figures of the families of Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob and Leah and Rachel, and it became the family tree of the patriarchs. Then we hung it with dove Christmas tree ornaments and paper chains, and it became a Christmas tree. On the first Sunday of Lent, we stripped it. It will be re-decorated at Easter.
The trial before Caiaphas.
The servant girl asks Peter, "weren't you also with Jesus?"
